General Machine Shop FAQs

Q: Do you offer machining repairs for broken parts?

A: Yes, our manual machining capabilities allow us to repair or reproduce damaged parts quickly.

Q: What’s the difference between CNC and conventional machining?

A: CNC machining uses computer-controlled machines for precision and repeatability, perfect for high-volume or complex parts. Conventional (manual) machining relies on skilled machinists to operate lathes, mills, and other machines by hand — ideal for repairs, one-offs, or quick custom work

Q: Do you offer machining for one-off parts or repairs?

A: Yes! One of our strengths is manual conventional machining, allowing us to repair parts, modify components, or create one-off custom pieces without the time and cost associated with CNC programming.

Q: How fast can you complete my project?

A: Typical lead times are:

  • Manual machining & repairs: 1 - 2 weeks depending on complexity

  • CNC machining: 3 - 4 weeks based on part complexity and quantity

  • Welding services: Often same-day or next-day for urgent repairs

Rush services are available.

Q: Do you serve clients outside Montreal?

A: Yes, we serve clients in Montreal, Lachine, Pointe Claire, Terrebonne, Laval, and the greater Montreal area. For certain projects, we can ship finished parts anywhere in Canada.

A: We work with:

  • Metals: Steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper

  • Plastics: Nylon, Delrin, UHMW, and more

Q: Can you handle both prototype and production work?

  • MIG welding – For heavy fabrication
